Before positioning the fan
- Confirm model, orientation, airflow direction, and installation location
- Check the foundation, supports, lifting points, and service clearances
- Prevent duct weight or misalignment from loading the fan connections
- Inspect the impeller, guards, fasteners, bearings, and transport locks
Before continuous operation
Confirm voltage, frequency, phase, grounding, protection, and control logic. Briefly jog the motor to verify rotation. Check that the impeller turns freely and that dampers, flexible connections, and access panels are correctly positioned.
Record the initial condition
During commissioning, record current, voltage, speed if required, vibration, bearing condition, unusual noise, and available airflow or pressure readings. Stop the fan if rubbing, excessive vibration, abnormal current, overheating, or unstable operation is observed.
