Factory ventilation is not solved by adding exhaust fans at random. The system needs a defined path for outside air to enter, move through occupied and heat-producing areas, and leave without short-circuiting.
Understand the building and heat load
Record floor area, clear height, roof form, production zones, heat-producing equipment, workforce concentration, doors, windows, and seasonal outdoor conditions.
Plan supply and exhaust together
Every cubic metre of extracted air must be replaced. Insufficient replacement air reduces fan performance, increases negative pressure, and may pull contaminated air into unwanted areas.
Choose the airflow strategy
- General air exchange for overall heat and stale air
- Local exhaust close to smoke, dust, or fume sources
- High-volume circulation for occupied work zones
- Ducted extraction where discharge must be controlled
The final fan selection should account for louvers, screens, ducts, bends, filters, silencers, and discharge terminals—not only the open-air fan rating.
